We again offered summer Chinese language and culture courses to high school students this past summer. This program, STARTALK, is a project funded by the National Security Agency and administered by the National Foreign Language Center at the University of Maryland. STARTALK’s mission is to increase the number of U. S. citizens learning, speaking, and teaching critical-need foreign languages, with programs for students (K-16) and teachers.
STARTALK is a federally supported program offered for the first time in the summer of 2017. It is a non-residential Chinese language and culture program for high school students.
